Off Ice Training
Essential for all Skate Canada members from PreStar to the elite athletes competing at the Olympics.
About Off Ice Training
Incorporating fitness training into the StarSkate programs ensures figure skaters of all ages recognize how training outside of the rink is an important part of our sport. An athlete’s training plan should involve regular off ice training to ensure they are doing all they can to achieve personal excellence at every level of their chosen Skate Canada program. Kits FSC has incorporated ballet lessons as part of our off ice training; both Tuesday off ice sessions are ballet classes lead by a professional dance instructor.
As the athlete develops, training will become more specific in the following areas:
Core Stability, Strength Training, Functional Movement
Aerobic and Anaerobic Training
Flexibility Training
Creative Movement / Dance Movement
Nutrition
Mental Training
Pre-Requisites: Enrolled in PreStar, Star 1-2, or Star 3+/Adult 2+

Lesson Format: Group Lessons
Coach: Program Director Jessica Torvick oversees all sessions.
