2026.2027 Fall & Winter Registration NOW OPEN

This website is new and still being refined - thank you for your patience as we continue to improve and add information

StarSkate 3+ & Adult Star 2+

Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a progressive manner that includes specifically designed awards and incentives.

About StarSkate 3+

Star Skaters and Competitive Skaters may engage a Skate Canada Certified Professional Coach to teach private lessons on our Open and Freeskate ice. Please note at this level the payment process changes; ice time fees are paid to the Club, whilst skaters will be invoiced for private lesson time and pay their Coach directly. Off ice lessons are now registered and paid for separately.
Check the schedule for off ice lesson times.

About Adult Star 2+

Kits FSC has a dedicated membership of adult skaters at all levels. If you are a mature skater seeking ice time, we welcome you to enroll in this program. Involvement in testing and private coaching is optional. Speak with Program Director Jessica Torvick about skating for leisure or setting individual goals.

StarSkate 3+ & Adult Star 2+ is organised into the following ice time sessions:

Open/Freeskate - Overseen by our Certified Coaches, skaters independently practice their freeskate elements. Skaters may regularly schedule lessons with their primary coaches during this time, typically in 15, 20, 30, or 60 minute intervals. Speak with your coach about what works best for your goals and budget.

Spins - Practising only spins for the designated time period to eliminate the interference of jumps, solo practice or other skating activity happening. This allows skaters to focus on spin practice.

Skills/Dance -  Time allocated to Skate Canada Skills and Dance testing material.  Skills are sets of turns and edges performed on patterns or semi-circles and also includes stroking patterns.  Stroking is mainly patterns of basic skating skills that can incorporate turns and edges. Dance refers to ice dances, such as Dutch Waltz, Canasta Tango, Baby Blues, etc.

Enrichment -  More in depth work on various aspects of skating not usually focused upon during other sessions and not necessarily Skate Canada specified for testing. Can include stroking technique and exercises, edge and turn exercises, creative exercises, and field moves (spiral, spread eagle, ina bauer, etc.)

+ Off ice - Don't forget to register for off ice training separately! Essential for all Skate Canada members. An athlete’s training plan should involve regular off ice training to ensure they are doing all they can to achieve personal excellence at every level of their chosen Skate Canada program.
